The Power Smart Manitoba Games are the province’s largest ongoing multi-sport
program bringing together participants from across the province. The Games are held
every two years and alternate between summer and winter sports events. Each set of
Games involve upwards of 10,000 athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers.

All athletes may participate in the regional qualifying events where the regional teams
will be selected. From there, the Regional Teams for cycling consisting of one coach,
one manager, and eight athletes, go on to participate in the Power Smart Manitoba
Games. There are a total of eight regions participating at Games.

The Manitoba Games Council is responsible for the overall stewardship of the Power
Smart Manitoba Games. Sport Manitoba supports the council in overall planning and
management, promotion, and marketing of the Games.

Cycling will be organizing training opportunities for each of the regions in the fall of 2011
for athletes and coaches interested in the Power Smart Manitoba Games. Selection
races will be held in the spring of 2012, where the top girls and top boys in each age
category from each region will be selected for the teams.

Once the athletes have been selected for each regional team, training opportunities in
each region will take place in the form of skills clinics.

Coming soon are the updates for  the link for your region to find out more about the qualifying events in your
region, athlete, coach, and officials development opportunities, and the information for
your regional contact.
